ABOUT ME
Ailis holds a Master of Arts (Distinction) in Music Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Ailis also received a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Otago, where she was awarded the prestigious Scholarship for the Arts.
Whilst in London, Ailis originated the role of Bobbi Melrose in the world premiere of Joshua Rosenblum and Joanne Lessner’s new musical Stage Door. Her performance credits at RCSSD include Nina in The Seagull and Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be?
Ailis has worked consistently throughout the New Zealand theatre industry. Career highlights include Les Liaisons Dangereuses (The Court Theatre); Shortland Street - The Musical (Auckland Theatre Company); Chicago (The Court Theatre) and CATS (Sierra Investments 2019 national tour).
Her other theatre credits include Super Duper!; STEMania! (Echelon Productions national tours); Pippi Longstocking (Tim Bray Productions); Punk Rock (Fortune Theatre) and Hairspray (Showbiz Christchurch).
Ailis has recently relocated to Barcelona, where she has directed the Second Year Musical Theatre Workshop production and assistant directed "Seussical" at the Institute of the Arts, Barcelona. Ailis has studied with Knight Thompson Speechwork and has commenced her studies into Intimacy Direction with IDI (UK).

Ailis holds an MA in Music Theatre from the prestigious arts institute, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. While undertaking vigorous full time training in dance, singing and acting, Ailis wrote an academic thesis "Singing in your Native Accent" which earned her a Distinction.

Ailis holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Theatre Studies and Film, Media and Communications Studies. Ailis was awarded the OUSA Gold Award for her academic and performance achievements at the University as well as the 2014 Scholarship for the Arts.

Ailis attended Tring Park School for Performing Arts from 2010-2012 and was on the full time Musical Theatre Course. While at Tring, Ailis completed training in dance, singing and acting, while also achieving A-Levels in English, Theatre Studies and History.
